Taking the Finger Harness by May modeled by Tony
The motivation behind this harness was to restrain wandering fingers, which had a tendency to interfere with me as I was rigging. From a design and artistic perspective, I wanted a construction that was similar to the finger flexor mechanism of the human body, something that would pull the fingers into position as if the muscles and tendons were actively making the hand into a fist. The final design has a pleasing biomechanical esthetic, and I think that the action of pulling the bottom’s fingers into place has a nice psychological effect. I call it “Taking the Finger” (as opposed to giving the finger).
